Phoenix Marketing International is pleased to announce that Jon Currie has joined our team. Jon will be serving as Vice President in our Media and Converged Technology organization. He will be located in California and will be supporting many of our West Coast clients.

Prior to joining Phoenix Marketing International, Jon operated Currie Communications, Inc. a consulting and market research firm primarily for media, entertainment and information companies. For over 20 years Currie Communications has been an action-oriented problem solver for clients, aiding them in developing new verticals, new products and solving their research challenges. His firm provided answers and counsel to Fortune 500 media, as well as advertising and consumer-oriented companies worldwide, including delivering strategic solutions integral to their marketing and product development.
Prior to forming his own business, Jon was a manager of Arbitron Television Ratings, beginning the infamous Arbitron-Nielsen meter wars in markets such as Denver. Prior to this Jon was Director of Research, ASI Market Research in Hollywood, where Jon conducted and supervised studies on television, advertising, cable, and movie viewership studies, including research for the launch of CNN. Jon took the long road to Hollywood, detouring through Iowa, where he consulted for media nationwide at Frank Magid Associates. At Magid, Jon worked on projects such as the launch of Good Morning America. Magid lured Jon from the academic world where he was Director of Broadcasting, Associate Professor of Speech Communications and General Manager of WASU at Appalachian State University, a branch of the University of North Carolina system.
