Making the Miles Count to Help Fight Cancer
Cancer is a disease that has touched millions of people across the world; almost everyone knows someone who has battled or is currently battling cancer. That is why Phoenix MI is proud to sponsor one of their employees who ran this year’s TCS New York City Marathon in support of the American Cancer Society. Jourdan Pignatelli (pictured below) is the Marketing Communications Specialist in the Rhinebeck, NY office, and set out to raise $3,200 for the American Cancer Society in the months leading up to the NYC Marathon.
The American Cancer Society has contributed to a 20% decline in cancer death rates in the U.S since the early 1990s, and have helped save nearly 1.2 million lives. All donations support their services that help families and patients get access to life-saving screenings and treatment, benefit from the progress made toward finding cancer’s causes and cures, and gain access to information and tools needed to prevent or support early treatment of cancer.
With the addition of Phoenix’s donation, not only did Jourdan finish the marathon, but she raised over $3,400! In total, the American Cancer Society Team DetermiNation raised over $830,000 for this year’s NYC Marathon to help fight cancer. Way to go!
