Possibly reflecting concerns over the impact of tariffs on the U.S. economy, the W&AM Economic Optimism trend plunged 19 points among HNW investors (down to 62%), and declined 8 points among Mass Affluent (to 64%).

The W&AM Investment Optimism trend line declined for the third month in a row among HNW households (to 25%), and fell 3 points among Mass Affluent (to 32%).
According to the July data from the University of Michigan Survey of Consumers, “those worried about tariffs expect a higher rate of inflation and anticipate that the unemployment rate will climb from historic lows”. Overall, affluent and HNW consumers appear to share these concerns.Back to Explore
